Earlier this month, Adele announced that her long-awaited album is set to arrive Nov. 19. CBS revealed last week that "Adele One Night Only" would be filmed in Los Angeles, though it didn't specify where. The L.A.-based artist's surprise Griffith Observatory appearance comes shortly after she released her latest single, "Easy on Me," ending a six-year musical hiatus. It's safe to say that snagging a seat for Adele's secret Los Angeles show was nearly impossible. The audience was filled with every A-List celebrity imaginable from the likes of Lizzo, Selena Gomez, Gabrielle Union, Melissa McCarthy, Donald Glover, Seth Rogan, and more. Adele's son, Angelo Atkins, was also in attendance, and the singer shared during the show that the concert marked the first time he had seen his mother perform live, in person.
Years of care following an early-career vocal cord injury have led her to explore registers beyond her reliable gut, and she's become more intuitive, conversational and in touch with the grooves and dancebeats her producers craft for her. Don't worry, swoon junkies, those notes still hit sometimes. But Adele is more likely to trade them in for a funky breakbeat, as she does on "Can I Get It," or the gentle push and pull of those gliding "E"s on the album's first single, "Easy On Me." On top of the concert, Adele will be sitting down with Oprah Winfrey for a wide-ranging interview.

The singer returned to the top spot of the UK charts and broke the national record for most streams in a week with “Easy on Me,” a heartbreak ballad exploring Adele’s divorce from entrepreneur Simon Konecki. Adele’s new album, “30,” dropped Friday and has been expected to be a massive seller from the moment it was announced. A previous version of this story mistakenly said Adele's album 25 came out in 2016. The arrangement of "Cry Your Heart Out" tricks out the template of the girl group sound in a new way, as have many other savvy miners of R&B history, from the Pointer Sisters to Lauryn Hill and Adele's standard-bearer, Beyonce.

The singer then performed "Make You Feel My Love" for the newly engaged couple as they sat front row and enjoyed the remainder of the show. Adele wears a stunning black gown for her ‘One Night Only’ special. The ‘Adele One Night Only’ special will be released just days before her new album ’30’ drops on November 19. It marks a point in life defined by major changes, such as new careers, moving, engagements and breakups, signaling a new chapter.
The British artist has said that some of those changes inspired her upcoming album 30. "It was my ride or die throughout the most turbulent period of my life," she wrote on social media last month, explaining her process of putting the album together. While on stage, Adele performed some of her classic hits along with new songs that are featured on her new album 30, which she will be releasing on Friday, November 19th. Winfrey touched base with other personal issues surrounding Adele over the last couple of years.

The number 30 is significant in the singer’s life as she separated and filed for divorce when she was that age. The album will be centered around Adele’s road to “self-redemption” and “divorce,” according to her interview with British Vogue and an Instagram live Q&A she hosted recently. The program also included a special interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which the singer divulged the details of her divorce, her “30” album, her weight loss and new boyfriend Rich Paul, a famed sports agent. On November 14, Adele performed in the CBS special, “Adele One Night Only” at Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. The singer also became the first person to feature on the cover of both the British and American editions of Vogue magazine in its November issue, with interviews for both editions released online in early October. The iconic artist told Rolling Stone magazine in an exclusive interview that she was “embarrassed” by the divorce but wrote the album as a way to explain to her son who she was and how the divorce changed her life.
“I’ve learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way. I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones. I’d go as far as to say that I’ve never felt more peaceful in my life. The impromptu concert was staged as part of the recently announced "Adele One Night Only," which premieres Nov. 14 at 8 p.m. Rumor had it that Adele played a secret show at Los Angeles' Griffith Observatory Sunday night.
